Excuuuse me, but you cannot schedule your own death. I believe that everybody is going to live as long as they were destined to live, and nothing can change that. But I also believe in prayer. God answers prayer. When a doctor says only a few months or a couple of years left, he is not God. He does not really know. He (or she) is only guessing. Yes, death is hard to talk about, and we always talk about how to help ourselves or our loved ones, and don't want to think about death. But talking about death as the inevitable, with a resigned attitude, will not help us. We have to remember there is always hope. Did you see the recent news of a vaccine for cancer of the cervix? Is that not amazing? Yes it is. Everyone has to fight this cancer and hang on as long as you can. New procedures, techniques, methods, vaccines, treatments, etc. can come at any time. Len, I am glad that you come here and give us advice. We count on your knowledge. We admire your courage. You are an inspiration. Don't give up. Don't give up hope. Please watch this short clip with your speakers on. It is tender and moving. http://i.euniverse.com/funpages/cms_content/2529/4candles.swf ~Deb from KS Len Henell wrote: Hi Deb, Call your son and tell him you are dying, then tell him that he is dying, then explain that we are all dying and not talking about it leaves it in that dark closet that scares everybody. Talking about it brings it out into the bright light and makes it managable. The language of cancer is scary because everyone assumes it belongs in the dark closet with the words of death. They all need to be brought out into the light so we won't fear any of them. Talk about how the world will be effected by their death. How does it feel to die? I have death on my schedule for probably next year but I look at it as a limit for all the things I need to do. That's all it is. Every second counts. Len --------------------------------- Yahoo! You are so blessed to have the ocean in front of you. You have a wonderful wife, a beautiful home, and a life of doing just what you always wanted to do. You have much to live for and I am happy to see you feeling more positive. in Southern California In a message dated 10/22/2005 5:22:46 AM Pacific Standard Time, flytodeb@... writes: Len, you are never alone. Guest guest
Thank you Pat. It is beautiful out today but I can't go out yet. I have to wait for the ground to warm up so my feet don't get the cold prickleys. I also took senokot this morning because I had not had a BM and then I got diahrrea, so I'm just laying on the couch looking at the email. If I attach a photo to an email, in this group does it show up? I suppose I could just send photos to individuals. Guest guest
Hi Len, I wanted you to know that your friend took his personal time and answered my private thank you note to him. Have enclosed his response for you to read. He seems quite a caring person. I am glad you have friend like him. Love, Ingrid Dear Ingrid: Well, I'm a little embarrassed by your effusive praise. It's easy to want to help Len because he's a nice guy and we go back a long way. He's also good to be with. Thank you for caring about him, as well. When he told me about your support, I was amazed. I know it makes sense for people sharing a challenge to support each other, but you have been a great comfort to Len, beyond mere support. I will keep your health and well being in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you. , I am a friend of Len's who also has Colon Cancer. I wanted to thank you so much for helping Len to get the roof finsished. I have also had the same chemo regiment that Len has and it is so awful on you hands and feet. The cool tempratures are just plain out diffucult to take on you skin. We who all know Len through the cancer boards would like to Thank You from the bottom of our hearts for helping him. When he told us about your great kindness it brought tears to my eyes. God Bless YOU!!! Thanks, Ingrid

Guest guest
Yes, BEAUTIFUL song and Lyrics - they touched my husband and I - our favorite Country song. We knew everyone on this board would take the same meaning from them as us - have said it many times in this last year - " Jesus take the Wheel " was on the Today Show last week and also in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and performed it both appearances. I think she was also on the Country Music Awards - maybe up for " Best New Arist " - She is 22 years old. I recommend everyone buying this, no matter what genre of music you like - it crosses over. Thanks so much :Len for finding the lyrics Pat Len Henell wrote: here are the words Artist/Band: Underwood Lyrics for Song: Jesus, Take The Wheel Lyrics for Album: Some Hearts She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati On a snow white Christmas Eve Going home to see her Mama and her Daddy with the baby in the backseat Fifty miles to go and she was running low on faith and gasoline It been a long hard year She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention She was going way to fast Before she knew it she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass She saw both their lives flash before her eyes She didn't even have time to cry She was sooo scared She threw her hands up in the air Jesus take the wheel Take it from my hands Cause I can't do this all on my own I'm letting go So give me one more chance To save me from this road I'm on Jesus take the wheel It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder And the car came to a stop She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat sleeping like a rock And for the first time in a long time She bowed her head to pray She said I'm sorry for the way I've been living my life I know I've got to change So from now on tonight Jesus take the wheel Take it from my hands Cause I can't do this all my own I'm letting go So give me one more chance To save me from this road I'm on Oh, Jesus take the wheel Oh, I'm letting go So give me one more chance Save me from this road I'm on From this road I'm on Jesus take the wheel Oh, take it, take it from me Oh, why, oh Len --- wrote: --------------------------------- I just happened to be walking by the tv and heard a pretty girl, don't know who she was, singing a song and immediately thought of our Len, the race car driver.
