(WAY OT) chicken flu and other worries

I was reading this old article on " Hong Kong Flu. " It's actually an article

about an episode on Science Friday.

This particular strain of Hong Kong flu was originally an illness found only in

chickens.

Then the same article goes on to talk about Dolly the cloned sheep and two of

her " children " carry the genetic code for human factor X. Whatever that means.

But it got me thinking of all this cloning stuff -- putting human genetic

material into animals -- could this be the reason that animal viruses (like

AIDS) are crossing over into the human population?

Are mad scientists are killing us with their experiments?
