Guest guest
MB .... I forgot to tell you if you have polyps that can eventually turn cancerous...as you know, there are two sorts... then you shall be forever known as a "Polyp Grower". Oh lollolol. I am a grower too. lol. Then we have scopes every 4-5 years. Everything you wanted to know I'll bet. MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. NasturtiumsDon't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Re: OT colonoscopy question Beth,Remember when I asked my questions about IV sedation of Dr. and Iforwarded them on to you? He said IV sedation is not generalanesthesia.I had a colonoscopy with IV sedation in 2004, a month before I sufferedrespiratory failure after having general anesthesia for the gall bladdersurgery. I had no problems with the IV sedation during thecolonoscopy. I had the colonoscopy a year after the lung biopsy when Idid suffer from the effects of the anesthesia.Ask your pulmo dude about IV sedation. I am curious as to his answer.Toodles!Jane UIP/IPF 12/1998 Dalton, Georgia aka pianolady_musicgirl>> I saw my primary care doc today...just a regular app't. I had a very bad reaction to pre-op sedation when I had mylung biopsy so I'm very leery. I will have an app't with the GI doc inadvance to discuss the issue and my primary suggested we might want tohave an anesthesiologist present. I'm just looking for anyone elsesexperiences with this. The sedation is what makes me nervous aboutthis..not the prep, not the test....just the drugs and my possiblereaction.>> Beth> Moderator> Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 Dermatomyositis 11/08>
Guest guest
Thanks Jane...believe me I was following your experience with interest and it does make me feel somewhat less anxious. My situation however is slighly different. When I had my lung biopsy my problems began before they gave me general anesthesia. I had a serious adverse reaction to the pre-op sedation which was only meant to relax me. My sats dropped like a rock with the sedation before they gave me the anesthesia. So this is why the prospect of sedation with the colonoscopy makes me anxious. I have an appointment with the GI doctor to discuss the issue and an email in to Dr. on. I expect to hear from him Monday. I think they will want the actual record of what happened during my lung biopsy and what specific drugs I was given before they proceed.
