Re: CT Scan - Ingrid, Lydia, Jolene & gang

Hi everyone

Today it is me with bad news. My surgeons' P.A. called me - the onc had faxed

them results of my CT. Apparently there is air/gas around my pouch (where the

rectum used to be.) It was a question of whether there was a leak or not before

the surgery - now it is certain there is. They want to see me right away. Of

course they can't getme IN until Tuesday! Obviously I will be having major

surgery AGAIN - I don't know if I can take it, with the kids, the winter weather

etc. I get so depressed in the winter. Well, I know it is serious and has to

be fixed. I haven't been feeling all that well - back pain , my stomach is

distended. I have blaming everything on this unreasonable weight gain I have

been having. Oh well - keep going - I am telling myself. I think I will be

able to get through the weekend with helping the kids fix gifts for their

teachers - taking them to the new Narnia movie that is out. I am sorely tempted

into a bottle of wine for good measure. Since I needed

to have my hernia fixed (they were going to wait for me to lose 25 pounds and

to do my one year colonoscopy to fix it - it is on the incision) but I guess

they will do it all together now - what fun.

Does anyone have or has anyone even HEARD of anybody with problems with the

pouch? Should I demand a colonoscopy first? Cause there's that issue too, to

make sure that is clean. They better do one now in my opinion - even though the

year isn't up until March. Guess I am playing the waiting game now myself. Can

I just go to sleep and wake up when it is over? I hate the months January

through March the worst - shame Maura and will be having their 5th and

6th birthdays in these months, sigh.

Take care guys, pray for my patience to at least get through this weekend

without biting someone's head off.

something in the nasty drink to make you go bathroom and pass

whatever it is they put in the drink. I was told that when I had my

last scan.
