Guest guest
Like most of you, I have the chronic cough. G suggested a cough medication, Benzonatate (Tessalon Perles). I read up on this drug and it works to suppress the cough by acting directly on the lungs and the breathing by numbing the throat and lungs, making the cough reflex less active. Because I have a lot of phlegm with my cough this medication would make it difficult to get rid of the mucus. So where does all that mucus go? It may collect in the lungs and airway and that doesn't sound good to me. I'd rather be able to cough it up. Think I'll just stick with what the doctor prescribed, guaifen w/coedin. It helps keep me from going into a full blown hour-long coughing attack. C_53_IPF_5/09Washington-the-Evergreen-state
