It would be enough to drive most people to drink but along the journey she has just become the most delightfully happy, charming, full-of-promise child, making all of this seem like not too much trouble. That's sweet. She's so lucky to have you all. writes: >Nice to hear from you again, how are your girls, I think of you often? We are still taking a break from chelation. The kids (NT, 12 yo and 10 yo) and I did about 70 rounds since December 05. For my own health, it really has been 2 steps forward-3 back. We saw enough gains in the very beginning to motivate us to keep chelating. Then, for me, I had a bumpy ride. Emotional upset in the family life. Hormone imbalance. Gut yeast flare. Gluten intolerance. Job change for dh & some financial stress. Now it's rheumatoid arthritis (I just started a low dose pulsing antibiotic protocol for this and I feel hopeful it will work. But, sheesh, what next?) My oldest is still a bit anxious, but she's also in the midst of puberty changes. My youngest is less volatile & moody, but she retains her basic strong will & personality. I'm finding it hard to distinguish between what might be a blatant biomed problem and what might be just sibling stuff, or needing to meet their needs in other ways (we homeschool and the kids spend too much time together). When one of the kids has a mood or is less cooperative, my immediate response is to start thinking about what might need fixing. y, I'm finding that exhausting. Dh & I are trying to use some of our resources to take care of ourselves now, after some intense years of the kids-kids-kids. A friend of mine pointed out it doesn't have to be one or the other, but really, I have only so much $$ to throw at this wellness project, and only so much energy (physical and mental). Chelation, perse, doesn't cost much, but the other interventions add up (good probiotics, good food, antifungals...) We plan to take a much needed vacation in September, and it will do us all some good to get away and relax somewhere. Anywhere. I haven't written off doing more rounds. But right now I'm feeling strongly that I need a good night's sleep more than anything. We may revisit it in the near future, however. One of my goals in the beginning was to do 100 rounds and then re-evaluate. Out of curiosity, I've wanted to do follow-up hair tests for us all, but haven't been able to part with the cash. I'd like to see if they've normalized by now. That's our little update.
