Guest guest
Well ours was basically a big party with some " official bits " in it, such as We planted a piece of DS's placenta and umbilical cord under a rose to commemorate my grandfather and DS of course! Had some " modern " readings A little ceremony were we asked DS's Honouree Aunts and Uncles to pledge something for his future Sang DS's favourite song's - Wheels on the Bus and Goner Build a House!!! And had a toast I also can't stand twee collectible things, so asked if there was nothing people wanted to desperately buy DS if we could have money to invest for him to withdraw when he's 18 - which actually most people did and were very generous, also quite a few people said they would rather give money then some useless little ornament, which actually quite surprised me. Saves people feeling like they need to buy expensive gifts. Cant wait to suggest it to DH, who is feeling queesy at the whole idea of having to make a speech in public! Took him two pints of cider to get through the 10 min wedding vows, made even harder by me laughing the whole way through....well 2 pints of cider at 9am is a bit too much for most people!!
