Guest guest
I have always found doctors annoyingly ignorant. It's such a frustrating experience to go tell a doctor about a problem and then have to educate them about it with information it took me ten minutes to look up on the internet. So it was with great great reluctance that I buckled in the face of unyielding yeast and made an appointment with a local doc. My goal was to grit my teeth through whatever crap he'd speil and not leave his office until I had a prescription for a yeast med in my paw. The doc I saw is one who also does alternative therapies and chinese herbs too. I hoped that this would help him in understanding where I was coming from, but I also braced myself for someone who would spout the party line on every latest alternative fad. So, first of all, he sat with me and talked for an hour. I bit the bullet and led in with the fact that I was doing the Cutler protocol and waited for his reaction. Which was...I've heard about Cutler, Tell me more. He asked me all about my dosing schedule and experience with DMSA. He wanted to know where I'd got it without a prescription. He asked why I was there and laughed when I told him about leaving with the prescription in my paw. He went over the list of supplements I took. Quizzed me about all of my symptoms, and asked what I thought about them. We talked about another goal of mine, which is to cure myself of gluten intolerance through chelation. He said that there were methods he used to retrain the immune system and understood when I said I didn't want to try them until I was a lot further on in my chelation journey. It was just really really nice to talk to a doctor and not have to educate them about how and why I alkalized my system or what it means that a parasite remedy worked to suppress my yeast. I was happy to hear him tell me at the end that I'm basically a strong and healthy person who currently has a lot going on. And really happy when he took out his pad and wrote me the script for Diflucan (with a refill and everything). I live in Dutchess County, NY, in a really rural area, so finding this guy is kind of amazing. AND he's over the border in CT, so said he can send off all these tests for me that are not allowed in NY for I don't know what stupid reason. He tried to gently talk me into taking a DMSA urine challenge test, but totally backed off when I explained that it would totally mess up my chelation balance to take two 250mg doses in a 24 hour period. But I am curious about the fact that he said he could determine how much mercury and lead were left in my system by doing it. Anybody have any experience with doing a challenge test in the midst of chelation? Anyway, that's my story. He's not a Cutler devotee or anything, but if you're in the Kent, CT area and want a (really expensive) local doc who'll listen, he's Bradford Harding at . TK--- you can also have a friend or relative do this for you without a charge by a dr if he charges for this or do testing through DLS. > > He tried to gently talk me into taking a DMSA urine challenge test, > but totally backed off when I explained that it would totally mess up > my chelation balance to take two 250mg doses in a 24 hour period. > But I am curious about the fact that he said he could determine how > much mercury and lead were left in my system by doing it. TK--- He is incorrect, this is a common misconception and not true. You can not determine body burden by challenge testing, it is just all he knows. Do not do one !!! Anybody > have any experience with doing a challenge test in the midst of > chelation? TK--- Challenge tests are not informative and dangerous, they have screwed up many people for no reason - DO not do one !! Do hair testing instead as suggested in the protocol. > > Anyway, that's my story.
