(This test is from Interclinical laboratories in Australia). The low mercury indicates that he probably has difficulty excreting mercury, which is a sign of toxicity. With Ca, Mg, Na, K, all fairly close, I wouldn't be too concerned about adrenals for now (but watch for signs and symptoms). Copper is in the reference range, which is good. > - Health History? - My son is 4 ½ years old. He's had digestive > issues his whole life. Gluten is very difficult to digest, is often problematic. When it is excluded replacing bread type foods with fruit and vegetables has to be healthy and easier on his gut. Dairy is also often problematic, and high sulfur. A food panel test for IgE IgG food antibodies may be helpful. He was > diagnosed with reflux as a baby. Lots of probiotics will help - much more than what is normally recommended on the package. > - No dental work of his own. Mother's Dentistry - None during > pregnancy. Up to 18months: Diphtheria x3, Tetanus x3, Pertussis > x3, Hep B x3, Hib x3, Polio x3, Pneumococcal x2, (MMR) (12months), > Meningococcal C, Varicella (he will be ahving no more vaccines) He certainly has had more than his share of exposure to toxins with all of these vaccines. > - Supplements and medications? DAILY: 1 capsule Primer > Undermethylating, 1 digestive enzyme, 1ml zinc. ¼ teasp calcium, ¼ > teasp magnesium, 5ml Cod Liver Oil, ½ teasp Probiotic, ½ teasp colon > cleanse, sometimes ½ teasp Vit C, (sometimes asthma puffer) Check with the supplement file in the files section of the autism mercury yahoo group. There are likely more supplements to add, and at a higher dosage, but dosage will need to be calculated in mg according to his weight. I am not familiar with Primer and colon cleanse. Check the ingredient list with autism mercury parents to make sure they are ok to use. Sufficient Mg and Vit C should resolve any constipation problems, and they are needed in fairly large doses for chelation and healing anyway. If he has no amalgams and no current exposures to heavy metals (no more vaccines, no high mercury fish like tuna) then you could do a trial of chelation with very low doses of chelator according to Andy Cutler's protocol. Side effects or improvement with chelation will confirm toxicity. Join the autism mercury yahoo group for support from other parents who are treating their children. Andy's two books would be helpful to have to refer too. Also, there is a wealth of information in the files and links sections of this group and autism mercury. It is a lot to process at first, but becomes easier, especially with the support of others.
