Guest guest
http://www.ruthiepearlman.com/pictures/sukkotpics2001.html We went on an outing yesterday to an amusement park on a kibbutz. It was hardly Thorpe Park but it seemed to have something for all ages, and the best thing was that Grandma and Grandma got in for the cheapest rate of everyone; as it was understood we'd just sit around and watch! In fact the entrance fees were quite clever; the kids cost more than the adults...well it does make sense if they are going to be the ones actually doing things! Anyway, just four pics from it. I'm not surprised you were hoping for a bit of peace when you came home though. Much as I love it when my sisters and their children come to stay I do breathe a sigh of relief when they leave - we have seven children between us and it's just manic - not helped by the fact that elder sister lets her two year old have long daytime sleeps so he's up till 9 or 10pm!! I do miss my quiet evening time when I don't get it. Do you manage to get any peaceful time at all when you have guests? As you might recall, my London bedroom is (1) the entertainment centre for the house with the only PC's and TV in it (2) I have no private bathroom so when we have visitors I am fighting for the bathroom along with everyone else and have to get dressed decently before venturing out to the loo. Here in Israel I have my own bathroom, the PC is in here yes, but there's another one upstairs with no internet connection, just games; and I made jolly sure mine was an incredibly boring one with no games on, so nothing to attract the kids. The room is also bigger than my one at home, the computer alcove doesn't take any space away from the room itself, and it also has a good sized veranda to sit out on, on sunny mornings. In other words, if it had a fridge and cooker I wouldn't ever have to leave! So if things do get a bit hectic downstairs I can retreat here and no one will bother me, well, except Zehava wanting to borrow my makeup, etc. Ruthie
