Well, okay...sort of a word.

went into the fridge, and was standing there tossing my hand

at a shelf (you know the drill)...Couldn't figure out what I was

supposed to get out, so I said to him, " What do you want? "

Of course, that never works, so I wasn't expecting a response...

He reached in, took out a ziplock bag full of grapes, and

said, " gwuh? "

That's close enough!

Thanks to all for the congrats on ' new word...I was truly

surprised. It does seem that he is trying to talk more, so I am

hoping this wasn't just a fluke. I can't tell you how many times I

have heard one word...once...and never heard it again.

We're considering adding in speech again...if I can find someone who

will come to the house (for a price I can afford) to work with him.

I always worry that if we start pushing he will stress out on us, and

go backward again, so it's a constant struggle for me--I feel

pressured on one hand to try to move him forward as quickly as he

can...and then fear, on the other hand, that pushing too hard too

fast will cause us to lose out in the end. Ugh.

I have that issue with , how much do I push, because he becomes so

defiant, so I'm not doing this for YOU if he thinks I am pushing. I

don't have any answers, Raena, but I have sympathy for your situation

with .

Why can't you have someone from the school district come out? Or are private

people better where you are?

--I dont think its a fluke either. Perhaps you could get a speech

intern who needs some extra money. Just a thought.
