I don't know whether to take him to school or not tomorrow. I left a

message on his pdoc's voice mail and should hear from her office

tomorrow morning, early I hope. violated house rules and left

the yard, going down to ny's house, and while there he raged and

attacked ny and his younger sister. He was very agressive and

physical, It was NOT good. I don't know what we are going to do.

He can't be here and be like this. I have other children to

protect. I have a feeling we could be headed for a hospitalization,

which truthfully, right now sounds like a nice break.

I've been reading but just don't have it in me to post much. I don't

seem to have much of anything to say. I'll let you all know what

transpires.

and your family. I hope the hospitalization will help. It really

might be best for everyone at the moment.

As hard as this seems, you will get through this. will too.

Be strong, I'm thinking of you.

Do you have an alarm on your doors and windows so that you know when

he goes out? Might be worth the investment, if there is no way to

keep him from leaving. In some areas, there is funding for hiring a

caregiver for children who need it inhome (waivered services)...is

that an option---I know it really isn't here, because there ain't no

money to fund it, even though it exists in theory.

One idea that occurs to me is to try something like a BearHug

vest...provides constant calming input thru trunk and spine--has

anyone tried that with him? Wouldn't do it alone, but in concert

with meds, might help?

Have you tried magnesium supplementation, or omega 3? Both make

visibly calmer...worth a shot, perhaps?

When a child gets older (and bigger), it gets very dangerous for

other kids if there isn't a way to control the aggression. Is there

anywhere there to do a brief inpatient placement to get his meds

under control? I hate even suggesting that, but it is something we

considered with when he was so bad 3 years ago...and he was

probably much smaller. Fortunately for us, the risperdal helped him

enough to make that unnecessary. But I know what you mean about

needing a break...

Don't know if any of that is new or helpful, but it's what occurs to

me at the moment (which is like, 6:45 am...)

: Whatever you decide for will be whatever is best for him and

the entire family. You need to be safe too. I am so sorry though that you

even have to make such decisions. Hugs....

A hospitalization may not be a bad idea if they can find a good

medication or combo to stabilize him. I know 's teacher kept

insisting on this, but, it seems he is okay-for now. How about a day

hospital type of thing? I can totally understand the aggressiveness

and feeling like youre in danger. He sounds pretty defiant. I hope

the pdoc can give you a good solution.
