Guest guest
We went to Chirk castle, http://www.castlewales.com/chirk.html It's only 9 miles away, Wales is just so beautiful I couldn`t imagine living anywhere else. We have so many places to go it's unreal. We had a really great time and the girls were so well behaved I am still reeling from the experience, they really enjoyed being there although Liesel made us whiz through the Castle itself pretty quickly because she wasn't too keen on it. I was really disappointed with the inside because it was completely void of any atmosphere, I am so sceptical to atmosphere but there was none.....Until we hit a bedroom and I felt a minor chill. King IV had slept in the bed.... don't know if that had anything to do with it, can't see why but I would hazard a guess that something not terribly nice happened in that room (this room is what the girls remembered the most - weird, but at least they sensed something too. The gardens are enormous and exquisite we rolled on the grass - yes even me, I spotted a `house' over the way and I said, " Oh look I wonder if there is any fairies in there " . Off we toggled and as I live and breath we could hear a flute....Liesel was a little bit put out because of the noise but I told her it was the fairies music. I thought it was Celtic music coming through speakers or something....when we got into `the house' there was A FAIRY! http://www.PictureTrail.com/gid2057981 Now you have to look through these pictures..... *grin* Our day was almost done and Liesel had just started to become over stimulated so we headed back to the car and a very good day was had by all....I am absolutely thrilled. As we drove out through the grounds your directed around the other way so you get the chance to see everything, we drove over a cattle grid and I thought this means only one thing....SHEEP! We turned a corner and there they were, I am used to this because I was brought up in Wales and even had a pet lamb at one stage, but the girls had never seen them so close before. They were right by the car and we were having to stop while they crossed the winding path. A happy day all round Louisa

Guest guest
Louisa, the photo of those two girls sitting quietly, framed in the foreground by flowers...<sigh> Exquisite! It looks like a perfectly lovely day. And so it was. :-) Jacquie
