Guest guest
Hi My In-laws are giving me grief about getting a mini tramp, saying it is not safe and that the " way " he is, he will really hurt himself. Has anyone had any problems? any special precautions I should take? geeshhhh In-laws Thanks Warm Regards & ASD 11/25/00 in Maine
Guest guest
i'd say the only safety precaution you should take is to stay away from your inlaws :-P seriously, the tramp is what, a foot off the ground? he could get more hurt jumping on the bed! if they want to pay for a full size tramp with a safety enclosure, then let them, otherwise tell them to butt out

Guest guest
It was the best thing ever that I bought for my kids. My oldest worked off a lot of energy on it. It held up for 2 years. I no longer have the room for it now, but once I do, I will buy another one in a heart beat. Leigh

Guest guest
The Wal-Mart website has them for 19.99 plus I think it was $7 to ship to Maine. I am going to wait until the local Wal-Mart can get one in. I found one of the square ones with the handle for $70ish on a website if you are interested in that I will find the link. Has anyone had any problems? any special precautions I should take? geeshhhh In-laws The mini trampoline has been the BEST $20.00 i EVER spent...and NO, she has never fallen on it, or off of it..(now, i have tripped over it a few times..lol) But, really, it was such a life saver, and it still is!!!! She even has one of those big bouncy balls (walmart $2.50) and she will bounce on the ball on the trampoline at the same time... Also, my little rach (2) bounces on it also, with no problems at all... Its set up in her room, and she uses it EVERY day!!!! nancy

Guest guest
Right now I am leaning toward the no handle one because of the cost and I doubt would hold onto the handle (He is 2.5) plus (and keep in mind I have not seen the handled one in person) I am wondering if he won't use, will it be in the way or does it lay down and is short not even 3 feet so I'm not sure he could reach it. I will try to find a link to one and see the measurements. Which one are you getting? Guest guest
I'm short on money too, so IF I get one, it will have to be the $20 one. That way, if he doesn't use it, I won't be out a lot, but this kid LOVES jumping on the bed, so I doubt that will be a problem. LOL! Guest guest
Hey, if you don't feel safe with the tramp, just buy him a cheap twin mattress and throw it on the floor for him! Just make sure it's a really bouncy one! Sue

Has anyone had any problems? any special precautions I should take? > Well, actually, they may not be very tactful, but they are right about needing some safety precautions...mini-tramps can cause serious injuries if not used properly. Rules? * Make sure the mini-tramp is far enough away from hard furniture, sharp corners, and windows that if the child loses his bearings, he won't fall into something that could hurt him. * Teach him to jump holding your hands...I have hold my forearms, and I hold his---it's a secure grip. * Teach him to walk onto the mini-tramp, not run and jump into it, as many kids do...losing your footing can cause toes to get caught under the vinyl edging and the kid takes a nose dive to the floor. Twisted ankles, bruise knees, possible bloody lip. That's what I can think of for now...if I remember any others, I'll post them. Guest guest
Ignore them and get a mini-tramp. Even autistic kids are smart enough to know that don't want to hurt themselves. Sissi

But that's a lot different from accidental hurt. Boone doesn't like to cause his own pain unless he's pissed. Them he bangs his head. No kamikazes off the trampoline so far.
