Guest guest
To be honest we kept our old sofa cushions for safety. The funny thing is that's what she uses to jump most of the time. So if you can't find a tramp check out on trash day for someone throwing away an old sofa and steal a couple cushions LOL
Guest guest
The only safety problem we had was moving it in order to play in the fishtank.
Guest guest
Raena, Thanks! My thoughts were to put it in the middle of the room with pillows on the floor around it and to supervisor the use until I can tell how well he will do on it. My biggest concern is and trying to use it together and banging heads LOL Thanks for the advice. See if In-laws could learn tack Warm Regards in Maine Mom to ASD 11/25/00 & 5/10/99 Re: Mini Tramp Safety questions > > My In-laws are giving me grief about getting a mini tramp, saying it is not safe and that the " way " he is, he will really hurt himself. Has anyone had any problems? any special precautions I should take? > Well, actually, they may not be very tactful, but they are right about needing some safety precautions...mini-tramps can cause serious injuries if not used properly. Rules? * Make sure the mini-tramp is far enough away from hard furniture, sharp corners, and windows that if the child loses his bearings, he won't fall into something that could hurt him. * Teach him to jump holding your hands...I have hold my forearms, and I hold his---it's a secure grip. * Teach him to walk onto the mini-tramp, not run and jump into it, as many kids do...losing your footing can cause toes to get caught under the vinyl edging and the kid takes a nose dive to the floor. Twisted ankles, bruise knees, possible bloody lip. That's what I can think of for now...if I remember any others, I'll post them. Guest guest
I do know someone whose daughter had a fairly serious head injury from a mini trampoline. She was expected to recover fully but it took weeks. However, I have always considered a mini trampoline safer than many of the other things that Putter might do in order to give himself whatever it is that he gets from the mini tramp. In the winter he would get on it about every two hours and it probably calmed him, stimulated his vestibular system and just overall did good stuff. So does climbing my high chest of drawers and leaping off. Given that Putter was going to do something leap-y it seemed best to choose equipment that was intended to be leaped on. Oh, and our mini tramp does have a handle and I do think it has been safer because of it. Salli
