Guest guest
Going back to old posts - I didn't take much notice of the discussions earlier this year on Blues Clues, as I'd never heard of the programme (not having cable/sky?) Anyway last week my M & D bought a Blues Clues video for the boys as it looked interesting, and we have had it on exclusively ever since! They LOVE it and I am really pleased as it is teaching them about rhythm and music. It is Ben's birthday at the end of the month and I have noticed that there are Blues Clues musical dogs on the market for around £30. Has anyone got one, and do you think they are worth it? Thoughts appreciated. phine (Mum to 4 & Ben nearly 3, Cambridge NCT) Incidentally, when Mr Salt and Mrs Pepper appeared (with baby paprika) I recalled the chat about " the blatant affair " , and it gave me a good giggle. I noticed on the buy and sell board on ukparents.co.uk that someone was selling loads of Blues Clues stuff the other day - may be worth having a look. Of course when my guys were into it there was absoulutely nothing available in the UK at all - and they are too old for it now, Caroline

Guest guest
Well ..... a music based programme for pre-school children. I think only available on sky/digital? 'Blue' is a dog who puts pawprints on objects. These are clues to a musical conclusion/song. eg. Sun, rain and spider = " incy wincy spider " . The only human character is (I think), who collects the clues, and draws them in a notebook. There is a lot of audience particiaption, anticipation etc. I found it a refreshing way to look at music and not just music but rhythum, the pitch of notes etc. Stuff I wouldn't have dreamed of trying to teach my children, but which they are absorbing with great joy. DH thinks it is awful and in the genre of " The Wiggles " an Austrailian export - a phase my children went through earlier this year. The boys think they are great, we even went to see them perform in Cambridge! Has anyone else heard of them? phine (Mum to 4 & Ben nearly 3, Cambridge NCT) > > Jenni asked: what's Blues Clues???????? >

The Wiggles are utterly brilliant. If you want to get fit with your toddler, forget the exercise video and try a Wiggles one instead. :-) They started life playing in pubs - I think they were called the Roaches, or the Cockroaches or something (not the Beatles LOL!). Apparently when they go on tour they still do some pub gigs in the evening, as well as the kids' shows during the day. -- Sue
Guest guest
ANd how about 'Hi 5'? Another Oz children's show which is fantastic. It was briefly on UK TV - but always at the wrong time for us, luckily we stocked up on videos last time we were in Sydney. http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/ Sue Woollett wrote: > The Wiggles are utterly brilliant.
