Guest guest
Sukkot is over. It's been great, hectic but great. Today we had 23 for lunch. Tonight, as we were clearing everything Sukkot-wise away, I handed DH my silver candlesticks with their very delicate glass globe oil lights to put away in a high cupboard, asking him very nicely to be careful not to smash any. (He has, truth be told, an almost comically disastrous record of smashing the glass globes/tea light holders when putting them away.) These globe oil lights are new, difficult to replace on special order, and very delicate. Well you've guessed it. On cue he managed to smash two out of three of the globes whilst putting them in the high cupboard. I wouldn't have minded quite so much if he had shown a reasonable amount of remorse, but he reckoned the best form of defence was attack, and he's been yelling at me for getting at him about it ever since!! " It's not the end of the world, all you do is criticise, " etc etc. When DH do something wrong " it happens. " When I do something wrong, I'm every kind of idiot. Is this only my DH or is this a universal male trait? I'm quite upset at the moment, actually, joking aside, the glass globes are replaceable, admittedly with difficulty, but I feel really miffed that he can't just do a bit of grovelling!
