Guest guest
> we call 'Aly' and > he used to be 'Pookie Snackenburger' or 'Bod'. my 15 year old sister was always known as 'Bod' - I bet loads of kids around their age were called it too! it got expanded to 'Boddle' 'Bodkin' and 'Bodbat' when she was naughty! She's just 'Jess' now - no funny name business! My step brother and sister (Jess's half siblings) are always known as 'T and K' instead of Tom and Kate - and were also referred to as the 'Bookends' - they looked very similar and are only 13 months age difference. Guest guest
Mima was always Sausage, or Mima Moo (even better, now she's at that 'I can be a cow' stage!), or , Jiminy, Jam . Josh is Mr Posh or Joshi or Shui, and Freya is Pumpkin or Precious Girl. Josh and Freya have endless fights over who is Minx and who is Menace ) When I worked with international students, a lot of whom came from countries where the order of names is the reverse of here, iyswim, I was commonly called Mrs Vicki - which stuck for quite a long time at work and at home. I do quite miss it, actually - I loved Mrs Vicki: I know they were aiming for respectful distance, but I think they hit respectful intimacy instead!! Guest guest
Our two children are known as 'The Muppets'. is sometimes Mr Muppet, Kitty is sometimes Miss Muppet or Muppetina. Calling them both by the same name means that I at least stand a chance of getting it right! http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/ Caroline Pearce wrote: > > we call 'Aly' and > > he used to be 'Pookie Snackenburger' or 'Bod'. > my 15 year old sister was always known as 'Bod' - I bet loads of kids around > their age were called it too! it got expanded to 'Boddle' 'Bodkin' and > 'Bodbat' when she was naughty! Guest guest
Jack is known by me as Jay is Jaw Jaw and Isaac is Zig Zag (which really suits the little monster) Isaac is the only one whose name gets altered by anybody other than me, he often gets Izzie - sometimes Izzie Pizzie by the boys. But as he has got older it has changed back to Isaac. It is strange thought we spent ages choosing names that could not be shorterned and I am the worst culprit for doing just that! Often shortened to Yitzi or Yitz. I like Yitzi. Ruthie
