Tavya (21) and Zehava (18.9) don't play with their Barbies any more

but they won't give them away; they still occupy pride of place in a

cupboard, along with the house, car, etc.

My Tressie (not sure of the spelling but it sounds like that) doll is

still sat in the garage with all her clothes.

I had a good time last night with my friends 4 year old combing

Barbies hair and dressing Barbie! I think I have missed having a

girl but only because I would enjoy playing with her Barbies!

Now that just brought back a long forgotten memory - I had one of those and

a Sindy too - and I remember covetting my friend's Pippa dolls but think

they were later.

I never had Barbies or Sindy's - I much preferred my baby dolls (although I

did have a Farah Fawcett Majors doll) - the most loved of all being my 'Baby

Alive' she ate 'real' food and drank from a bottle and chewed with her

mouth when you pressed her bottom lip. She was very realistic and I played

with her all the time until I was about 11 when I suddenly thought I was too

old for dolls, and put them all in my Dads incinerator in the back garden

:o((((((

I also really really wanted a cabbage patch doll when they came out, but I was

apparently too old at 10 :o(( I've made up for it though as I started

collecting the original dolls a couple of years ago and now have about 20! I

always keep an eye on ebay too, looking for a 70's 'baby alive' to replace my

much loved incinerated one.

any cooking/cleaning/ironing done now methinks!!).

I know its tragic.I was still playing with my Barbies at 12.

They seemto get into it much younger now,and then 'grow out of it' within 3

years.

Does anyone know if action man follows a similar trend,or will he last longer?

Kate.
