It was our Ball last night!

Oh what a night!! What more can I say? Last night was our first ever

Ball and whoever else is considering holding such an event - go for

it!! It is so worth all the blood, sweat and tears.

A fantastic night was had by all, and we partied until 1 am to a live

band. The venue looked great, food was tasty and the wine flowed.

The Ball committee worked so hard to make the evening such a sucess.

However all this could have been irrelevant if we had not achieved

what we set out to do - which was to raise some funds for our branch.

And boy did we raise funds - over £4000 - final figures to be

confirmed in a weeks time (when our Treasurer gets back from a well

deserved break!)

I am still in a state of shock at the final amount. We had kept our

fingers crossed that we would get in the region of £2000 but to double

that has exceeded all of our expectations. The sheer hard work of all

of the committee has payed off and I feel so proud of everyone.

If anyone wants to know what we did, how we did it, how we nagged,

cajoled and even begged at times then feel free to mail me direct (if

I get time I'll put something on shared files).

Also, just wanted to add a big public thank you to those

NCT-coffee'ers who made up a table of 12 - and took their fair share

of the raffle prizes (you know who you are Sue!) and to Tracey and all

her gang from Stansted who arrived en-masse in a coach no less (23 of

them to take up 2 tables) Thanks so much for coming along and for

showing your support and see you next year!!
