Giving stuff away

I keep giving baby stuff away (clothes, toys etc), but I never get

anything in return ;-). I don't know anyone with kids older than mine

who haven't had a sibling who's now using it all. Is it just a timing

issue?

I have mixed feelings... it's so nice that someone else can use it

but at the same time I feel ever so little resentful. Must be one of

the 7 deadline sins isn't it (greed, envy, whatever?)

What do you guys do?

I tend to give most things away, but you could always take it to your local

NCT Nearly New Sale - then you'd get some money for it! (I'm just too lazy

to label everything up)

Do you know I've done that everytime. As both sisters have been having

babies over the last few years too - I've given everything away each time

and then end up not getting things back! There are one or two items of

clothing that have worked their way through several children back to me but

mostly I've bought new things each time.

Car seat are the worst - I lent Bethany's infant seat to my elder sister

which then got stolen. She had Verity's infant seat after me and manage to

completely ruin it!

And yet they seem to get given loads of stuff from other people - my younger

sister was given a lovely Silver cross coach pram (which she sold when she'd

finished with it!!!)- my older sister a beautiful bamboo rocking crib.

This time I'm holding on to absolutely everything. LOL

Timing has a lot to do with it, I was the first of my friends to have a

child so passed all my things on to them. Then I left a 14 year gap before

the next one so all the stuff had disappeared by then and I was the last of

my friends to have another baby IYSWIM. After M was born I gave all my

stuff to my SiL thinking we weren't having any more, thankfully she kept

most of it (and in pristine condition) and was just thinking about selling

it when I announced my PG so I was able to have it back with extras :)

This time I am thinking of selling some of the things - perhaps on one of

the auction sites.
