Guest guest
So Ruthie, have you got wedding organisation off pat with four under your belt already? Will it be every bit as exciting? Will it be poignant given that this is your last daughter? (My best friend has just got home from her only daughter's wedding and she's the most blissed out I've ever known her. Certainly not much sense to be got out of her as yet :-))))) -- jennifer@... Vaudin
Guest guest
Congratulations Ruthie on Zehava's engagement. > > It all sounds very romantic, just over a week ago she'd never met > him and > > now she has a wedding to plan and look forward And I thought DH and I's six weeks was quick. > Not touching though > > until after the wedding - tough one! Failed that one miserably, since I slept with (literally) DH from our first day together. Well I couldn't stick him on his bed sit floor :-) Seriously, I wish someone could find a suitable, partner for my Jewish friend, she is progressive/ reform and they don't seen to have it anything like so well organised. Although not strict orthodox like Ruthie, her faith is a large part of who she is and I'd love her to find someone who could share it with her. Guest guest
Yes, yes, we are interested (just can't add much, that's all). Congratulations all round then. What a speedy decision (it took DH & me 8 years to get engaged and another 8 months to get married) - but I know the circumstances here are different. I hope you don't mind me asking a general question and I don't offend, but Is it a dead cert now that the wedding goes ahead, or are there instances where they get to know each other a bit more and it all goes pear shaped? and do they carry on seeing each other as much as they have, or does he goes back home and it cools off until the wedding? nosey of Stansted PS the photos are great - they look very happy - and so young! How old are they? > Well (in case anyone is interested...as you don't seem to be, I am > still going to tell you all anyhow...) > > My youngest daughter Zehava got engaged this evening to Moishi Dansky

Do you mind telling us more Ruthie? (PS I know that I have been a little slow with my e-mails but what happened to Doniel? - or are we not meant to ask?!!) I also feel quite old because my last 2 sets of " in laws " have been quite a bit younger than us. (( I have just come back from helping Zehava choose a watch that her new parents in law want to buy her, lucky girl! It is kind of traditional to buy your new bride, besides the classical engagement ring, at least one other item of jewellery according to what you can afford. Tavya got a two tone white/yellow gold necklace, and bracelet, but she didn't want a watch. The " bride's watch " is a real piece of jewellery, being gold, with tiny diamonds around the face. http://www.ruthiepearlman.com/pictures/watch1.jpg Also I just love being a mother in law to boys, as has been said it isn't the same at ALL as being a MIL to girls. Only ever having had one daughter in law, Uri's wife, I can say that one walks on eggshells with a son's wife, but you can tease and be quite tongue in cheek with a son in law. Nothing is a dead cert. Engagements do break off. Couples divorce too. One of my friends (an ex NCT ANT actually) has a daughter who has *two* broken engagements behind her; that will not earn her many brownie points when looking for a new young man. In fact I thought Tavya would break it off with Dov on several occasions; she was SO unsure during her engagement...it was the most nightmarish time of my life, watching her going through all this agonising and wondering if there would *be* a wedding. Now they are so happy, it is difficult to imagine how awful it was then. > > nosey of Stansted > > PS the photos are great - they look very happy - and so young! How > old are they? Guest guest
and do they carry on seeing each other as much as they > > have, or does he goes back home and it cools off until the wedding? Well, he is going back to Israel to Yeshivah on Sunday, so they won't see very much of each other after that until she goes to visit him. As we have Yeshaya out there too, we plan to spend the Xmas break in Jerusalem so that she can be with Moishi and we can see our *baby*. (who is, btw, coming home for the engagement party..we just couldn't refuse him...just from Wed till Sat night. None of my other Israeli lot, who are married with kids, are coming home just for the engagement...just too much hassle and expense.) > Glad you asked - these were a few of the things that I was > thinking. Do you mind telling us more Ruthie? Glad to, please ask specifics. Are you sure you have the right name? He is one of my sons in law, married to Avigayil, my third daughter. What was meant to have happened to him? Guest guest
Wow, that is such a beautiful watch ... I think remembering watching the sparkles of my engagement ring whilst counting down the weeks to the wedding - sort of symbolic of excitement and excellence and promise ... it will be an exciting comfort to her to look at it when Moishi has left the country (which surely will be quite hard on her) , but you can tease and be quite tongue in > cheek with a son in law. and he does look a real darling, and a bit cheeky! I think they are both lucky young things looking at both of them in the photos...and beautiful young things too! Caro
Guest guest
Congratulations Ruthie to Zehava and Moishi ;o).. I have not had time to read any mail here this last week (got 306 in my coffee box) but this one caught my eye and I had to write a little congrats ;o).. Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already.
