As he was born 6 weeks early he was more like 6 weeks old. It was Easter Monday and so the GP's surgery was closed. DS2 was quite poorly and I rang the on-call GP for advice. His comment to me was .... " did I know it was a bank holiday and he didn't like coming out on a bank holiday? " So I laid it on thick about his antenatal problems and his prem birth etc. and he reluctantly came out. DS2 was fine - he just needed Calpol and TLC, but my confidence in the GP was nil. Needless to say I changed GP soon after. The next GP was completely different - coming out to see DS2 when he caught a chest infection, ringing me up to check on progress and, eventually, when he got no better referring him to hospital - a very kind and thoughtful man.
