Guest guest
With all three pregnancies, I worry that at the 12 week scan they are going to say " There is no baby there, only Cadburys Dairy Milk! " . Francesca (20 week scan next Wednesday!) LOL Francesca, exactly what I've thought as well with my three!! That or " go away Mrs Hutton, you just have a bad case of wind " !! Guest guest
With DD1, the first sign was the consultant and two nurses drawing back the curtains round my hospital bed to tell me that instead of going for a laparoscopy to investigate my ovarian cyst, I would be going home as I was 5 weeks pregnant!! I had no idea! With DD2, we'd had unprotected sex when I thought I was safe but for some reason I ovulated twice that month and so I fell pregnant. I was only two days late when I put 2 + 2 together about the sore boobs and metallic taste. With no. 3 (EDD 21.3.02) (the only planned one!) I knew about two days before I was late, again metallic taste and sore boobs. Apart from that and some slight nausea and tiredness though I find it quite hard to remember that I am pregnant until I really am quite big and the baby is moving. With all three pregnancies, I worry that at the 12 week scan they are going to say " There is no baby there, only Cadburys Dairy Milk! " . Francesca (20 week scan next Wednesday!) I had no idea! > Francesca-snap!! I was seeing a new Dr and registering at the practice. We went through all the usual questions, medical history etc. I had gone into long explanation over all my gynae problems etc and the fact I could not have children, consultant even said that IVF would be a waste of time. Anyway he was busily testing my urine (?glucose test) whilst I explained this tiredness I was having and felt sick all the time. I had just started a new job and put it all down to stress, and over indulgence in the run up to Xmas! He said 'well I think Miss that you are pregnant'. I started having a go at him ranting that he hadn't listened to a word I'd said etc!!!! Turns out he was right and all the others proved wrong! I was 11 weeks at that time. Not possible to tell by my periods as they were so erratic. Bit like a bus - nothing for ages (months) then several one after the other!I had no idea what it felt like to be pregnant as I had never thought about it. I was totally freaked - DH (who at the time wasn't my DH!) and I had not been together that long (matter of months) and I had given him the big 'we can't have kids' talk. ANyway all turned out well. With DD2 I was slightly more aware (ie 9 weeks pregnant when I discovered!) I'd only had 1 period and that had been in the January, in late August I noticed swollen boobs etc but I just thought that I had another period due. When this feeling didn't go away, and I went off wine I trotted off to the Dr's who confirmed my suspicions. 2 DD's with 19 months between. Beverly (who likes to prove Dr's wrong!) Guest guest
LOL, I refused to look at my scan until the woman had told me that there was definitely a baby there, I too was convinced they would say it was wind!
