Yes, I have to say that the saying bugs me as well, partly because mil will

insist on thrusting it at me at (usually) inopportune moments! So no

offence intended.

Ruth, I understand exactly what you mean. Mil will have any or all (she is

slightly dotty as well!) at almost a moment's notice, but she does not

understand about ' Aspergers and thinks we are too hard on him - hence

reference to our child rearing differences. Trouble is, she can manage to

wind him up as high as a kite and then I have the wonderful job of calming

him down again. As for the dyspraxia, like you say, she thinks that Oliver

is just plain naughty and consequently he gets very aggrieved because he

sees being allowed to get away with almost murder (cos we're too hard,

you see!), whilst he gets told off for daring to breathe sometimes. Having

said all that (phew!) she has many other wonderful qualities, like having

all my children so I can go shopping in peace.
