Where have you been? I have been trying so hard to find you!!

I have had my MGB and am doing fine so far. I had it July 26th. How are you

feelin? 102# !!!!!!! Geeez You are doing great! Feelin ok? Keep me posted!

Sounds to me like you have a good shot at it. I think to test your thyroid is

just a simple blood test. Stay excited and I'll be rooting for you!!!!!!!

HI Pam,

Yes I did all those tests as well as a cortisol

evaluation. but not becuz my insurance wanted them, my

PCP did. Just to be safe. its ok only a blood test and

should be fine...good luck and Ill look for you on the

other side. I had my surgery on July 20th, Im here if

you need anything.

Hi Pam,

Since they are asking for these tests, it sounds like it's a covered

benefit and they will probably approve when you get this information

to them. I'm assuming that your PCP can do the endocrine test. Do you

know someone who can do the psychiatric evaluation? If not, give me a

call or e-mail me back. I have a couple of suggestions for you. Best

Contact the insurance company and have them fax you EXACTLY what it is

they want.

Then call your PCP and get it done.

Yes, you should probably be excited they didn't turn you down. What

they are doing now is making you qualify under their quidelines, where

you have to show that the surgery is " medically necessary. " Under your

particular insurance company's criteria, you are required to show that

your obesity is not caused by an endocrine disorder.

This may not be the *only* thing they need. When you call them, ask

them to tell you *exactly* what they need for you to be approved.
