Guest guest
In a rash moment last week (half term) I offered my two girls (15 and 12) a trip to Bluewater, with each bringing a friend. So off we went last Friday, leaving at 9:15, got there at 11:00, split into 3 groups - well, me on my own and girls in pairs. The only good thing was that mobile signals there seem to be very good so we kept ringing each other saying " where are you? " and " have you had enough yet? Can we go home? " . I only bought one thing; a pair of handmade Australian jodhphur boots and I coveted a lovely jacket in Jaeger but it was £850 so I decided to give it a miss! We finally left at 4:30, queued for hours at the Dartford tunnel and got home exhausted at 6:30. Personally, I wouldn't bother going again - it's too big and none of the shops are at all special; certainly not worth a 2 hour drive for me who HATES shopping (unless it's bookshops). Even the girls said they wouldn't be bothered to go again, thank God! Still, you have to do these things once in your life, and I can now say I've been there! Ruthie, just stick to Brent Cross with your occasional trips to NYC - much more fun! Akiko tearing my hair out as older daughter is STILL off for half term!
