I laugh when I think of you. lol I mean that in a nice way! lol Bud really liked you too. He is real quite. Could you tell? I'm not! Could you tell? I wanted to talk to you sooooo bad but I'm laughing right now thinking of our previous conversations. Call me! I'm gonna be off this week and start back to work next week just because I want to! Guest guest
The picnic is on Sept. 30 in Raleigh. You'll have to get more specific details from Ginny (I have a post saved somewhere...). I'd love to get t-shirts for our " teams " . Does anyone know how we could get a good deal? Flo is my co-captain, and Trish is the captain of the green team. By the way, once you've qualified for either team, it's yours for life. Lori, you're still on the orange team, even if you're no longer qualifying! Blessings, ~Amy. Tomato soup is the BEST! I crave it all the time. Weird! Message----- From: Dinah Boatwright Sent: Monday, August 21, 2000 1:29 PM To: MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com Subject: Re: I'm Home! Guest guest
Beth, Congrats on your surgery! I had some diarrhea problems in the beginning too. I had my gall bladder out with my surgery so that could have been part of my trouble. Per my doctor, I took Ammodium AD and that helped a lot. The problem seemed to go away after about 2 weeks and then I started having constipation problems. I am not sure which is worse. At 2 months out, things are finally starting to work normal again in that area. Keep drinking as much water as you can. That helps flush all the yucky stuff out of your system and keeps your body hydrated. Kathy M. DS 7/19/01 pre-op 213 today
Guest guest
Hi Beth, Welcome to the other side. I don't know if I can help you with the diarrhea, mine cleared up within a week. The only time I had problems like that was when I had something that didn't agree with me. I was very lactose intolerant at the beginning. That caused me a lot of cramping and diarrhea. Sometimes the painkillers can cause a problem also. I didn't use them, felt some discomfort, but no real pain. As for eating a half an egg at a week is good. You should try to increase the liquids. I have a water bottle and sip constantly during the day. You would be surprised how much water you can get in by sipping every 5 minutes or so. And as you say, this will pass. Guest guest
Hi everybody. It's actually me, Sara. I know you missed me! They let me go home today about noon. Baby Raphael is doing well. Bit of a rocky start with nursing but we're getting there...just takes some patience...and my milk is already coming in so I know we're doing *something* right! My bp is still up a bit (140-90ish) and I am still very swollen, though much improved...they want me to take it very easy (post-Cesarean discharge instructions) and come to the clinic in a week to be checked. Everyone at the hospital was SOO NICE!!! I was just blown away at how well we were treated. Amazing. insists it is his turn on the computer now so away I go! TTYL, -Sara. Guest guest
Boy, Jac. When you do it...you REALLY do it ALL! I would say you have a full plate at this time. Surgery, husband re-called (maybe at some point...sheesh), I am so sorry to hear of your precious fur baby. I know how hard THAT hurts! More then the NG tube for sure! And then your Parrot....which I know (cause I used to hand raise the little critters) are as much love and fun as a fur baby. I have so assume that since you didn't mention any of your other critters that they are all just fine. And your Mother? I hope she is well too. Keeping you and yours in my thoughts and prayers. That darn anesthesia really takes its toll on you for about 30 days or so (in my opinion), and helps keep you weepy and down. Also, up that supplemental protein ... especially if you don't feel like eating ... GET YOUR PROTEIN SHAKES IN YOU. I'm so sorry to hear of your pets. You're home now, so you can keep an eye on things and it will all get better. With regard to your husband ... my 53 year-old brother has been in Iraq since May, so I'm there with you. If I remember correctly, when I was going through my struggles and worries of my brother shipping out, you had similar worries that didn't manifest themselves at that time. Maybe it will happen again this time too ... maybe it's just a scare and he won't go. Things are still angry there, but not as bad as they were, and are getting better with each passing day. If he does go, know in your heart he'll be just fine. Jac - focus on getting well and how far ahead you are right now. Your surgery is over and done with and you're on your way to another new chapter of health. Take care.
