Guest guest
Well the Robbie concert was fantastic. He was great fun and he sounds exactly like he does on his records. The mix of songs was great - the old ballads, as well as the old rockers. Finished with Rock DJ, and then did " We are the Champions " (from " A Knight's Tale, I think) for an encore. No Kylie to duet with on " Kids " , but had a video with her singing her bits, and a large cardboard cut out on the stage :-) Lot's of us wrinklies there - not just nubile young girls - but plenty of young things throwing their underwear on the stage. DH enjoyed it too - but I couldn't be quite as abandoned as I would have liked to have been :-) We sang, and danced, clapped and shouted - and my voice is very hoarse today. Quite a bit of effing and blinding, plus a moon to the audience, and a few offers to take girls back to his hotel, which those parents there with very young kids might have found a bit difficult - but all-in-all a really great evening, and my first time to a pop concert in over 9 years - that was in 1992. Robbie was staying at a hotel about 10 minutes drive from here, but resisted the temptation to hang around outside on the pavement :-). DS1 came home from school to say his friend's Dad had been playing soccer with him. I wasn't quite sure whether DS1 was telling the truth - but I couldn't imagine it was the sort of thing that he would make up. Anyhow, last night at the concert, Robbie actually thanked all those who had played soccer with him over the last few days - so it all makes sense. Anyhow - back to my mundane day-to-day life. Having said that, it is a lovely 30 degrees and I 'm tempted to go for the first swim of the season. Sunday, we have been invited to DH's boss' winery (vineyard) for the day - so hope the weather stays nice. Debbie Slater Perth, WA
Guest guest
Debbie I'm glad you had a fantastic time and that you have been able to move forward.Your words give us all hope and help us to realise if you can overcome such tragic circumstances then we can certainly overcome more trivial ones. On a lighter note yes I too am VERY jealous!! Sonjia
