Guest guest
Thanks Fiona, I think the hassle is going to be because I haemorrhaged with both my DDs. DD1 was 8lb 15 and I lost over a litre of blood and was quite poorly. DD2 was better (7lb 15) and lost about 700ml. I cannot remember whether I started to bleed after delivering placenta or before so the midwife requested my notes and apparently the consultant said he wanted to see me! Funnily enough, the hospital were quite happy for me to have a water birth with DD2 but this did not happen as Pembury had only just got the birthing pool (rather behind the times down here in deepest Kent!) and they did not have a " water birth " midwife on when DD2 was born (Sunday morning before a Bank Holiday) so it did not happen. I will let you know how I got on and whether I need any help fighting the consultant. Thanks!
