Guest guest
There should be a law against bonfires; I'm not referring to the Guy Fawkes kind, but to the kind that gardeners light, to get rid of mountains of garden refuse. My neighbour across the street is apparently having her garden done; we have been subjected to a pall of thick choking smoke over our street all day today, and I am just recovering from a chest infection. I can't close my bedroom window entirely; it's stuck, but even if I could, I would suffocate without fresh air. But the smoke is everywhere, it covered my car with blobs of white ash this morning, so I had it washed thinking the bonfire would be over by this afternoon, but it isn't. I am coughing, my eyes smart, and everything stinks. And I'm *indoors* with only one window a crack open. Isn't there any kind of law against this pollution and nuisance?
