Guest guest
was today and all is OK. Bit of a relief after the scare we had with DD2 (referred up to Guy's as they thought she had a heart problem). Did not find out the sex but the baby has long legs and a small head!! Sounds good to me! The appointment with the consultant was a joke but it was agreed that I could have a water birth with no protest at all. The joke part was that I waited an hour and 20 minutes after my scan to then see some junior doctor fresh out of med school. She did my BP, tested my wee, measured my tum and listened to heart and then said " Well we don't need to see you again " . I said " Well the reason I have an appointment with is because I want a water birth and my m/w is twitchy because I haemorrhage, that's the reason you have my notes in front of you as I can't recall whether it is before or after placenta being delivered " . She flicked through my notes, said losing over a litre of blood was " not bad " (don't know whether it was but it looked pretty disgusting to me and I felt like death!). She then wandered off, spoke to the consultant and said it was fine! No wonder the NHS is in the state it is - they could have just looked at my notes and told my m/w to go ahead - no need to see me at all!! Anyway, all is OK and I am " halfway " tomorrow! Francesca PS Don't know why my last post which I posted at 10am took 10 hours to get onto the list.......
