Guest guest
Hi everyone. Some of you had asked me how the phone interview went this past Wednesday for Evan's SSI application and I just realized that I forgot to post about it. Sorry!! Anyway, the interview was scheduled for 11:15 AM and the lady that called was on time....that was a shocker to begin with....LOL. Ok....she asked tons of questions, of course, and then we got to the part about income and I had to tell her hubby's income because I don't have any. They do know hubby is Evan's step-father but, for whatever reasons, still have to consider his income even though they didn't for Medicaid. But, there is another woman I know whose son is in SPED pre-school with Evan and she had a phone interview on Wednesday also. She was rejected over the phone because of income. We were not, so let's hope that's a good sign. Anyway, the woman was real sweet and she said that I needed to be aware that there are instances where some people get denied and shouldn't have been (hmmmm....ya think?? LOL). She said that if we get denied then I will either get a letter or a phone call from her and that as soon as I receive the letter and/or phone call I am to call her and tell her that I disagree with the decision and ask for the paperwork to re-submit. Silly me was looking for a hidden message in there and was wondering if she's trying to tell me that we should be approved?? Anyway, I don't know anything yet, of course. She is sending more (yes, more) paperwork to fill out and then I send in what I already filled out together with the new stuff. She said it could take up to 90 days but that it would help if I had any copies of any of Evan's medical records confirming the diagnoses of ToF and Autism. hehehehe.......do I have copies of some of his records??? hehehehe......silly question. She said to send her whatever I had and it would be better to send them too much then not enough and it could speed of the process. So, that's where we stand and as soon as I find out anything I will certainly let you all know about it. Thanks, again, for the prayers and for being concerned about us!! Thanks so much and Happy Mothers Day to all of you!! Love, prayers and heart hugs, Debbie (GA), Mom to Evan (4.5 y/o with ToF, RBBB, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asthma); (now a whole year old and HH and NT?); and my 3 angel babies whom I will finally see when God says it's time! 9:1-
