Guest guest
That is awesome Penny!! Jacqui learns SARCASM!!!!! Am I happy about this? YES! and only YOU guys would understand why. Jacqui had a MAJOR meltdown on Saturday morning. SHE wanted something from the kitchen, but was playing upstairs. She DEMANDED that I get it and I refused. I told her if she wanted something, she could get up and get it. The demand elevated into a full autistic meltdown. Of course, 1/2 hour later she was absolutely fine. Then came dinner time. She had been wonderful the rest of the afternoon, asking for something she needed politely, etc. We sat down to dinner and she said " Can I have a drink please? " ....and followed it by yelling " AND YOU GET IT NOW! " , with a smile on her face. Her Dad didn't get it. He said " Well, the first part of that was good " . I looked at him and said " she was just kidding " ...then she says " Yeah, Dad, I was just joking. " A TOTALLY NT moment. She was SO there, with us, in our world! She knew what she had done before and how it bothered all of us so much, and was making a JOKE !!! Wow! Penny :-D ~Accept what nature provides and celebrate the differences~

Guest guest
Wow !! That is fantastic...WTG Jacqui :-) Last night Andy did something similar.... He was really pushing his luck..tantrumming constatntly. So I said in a stern voice..*do you want your bum smacked???* Not that I would spank him, but I hoped the tone of my voice would catch his attention. So what did my little cherub do ??? He said YES, smack my bummm!! Then turned and shoved his butt at me...ROFL At least he stopped tantrumming, and today he keeps shouting *mummmmeee smacka ma bum* Hmmm wonder if he'll keep that one going at nursery // ;-) Ali mum to Lyndsey,7,(NT) and Andy,5,(ASD)

That reminded me of my son, when i was married to his dad, and he was probably around 3years old...His dad would wrestle with him, but what he would say to joshua is " time for the beating!! " , and then joshua would know it was time to wrestle. Anyways, we were in the grocery store, checking out, and joshua said in a very loud voice " is it time for the beating now, Dad? " WOW...what a bunch of bad looks we got from people!!!! lol nancy
