I don't know. When she gains a full range of motion on her own, I'd assume she'd be released. Until then, probably not. Our daughter is a bad case. Bad enough she had surgery to help correct her tort. She may need another surgical intervention, but we're hopeful not. She's been in PT 2-3 days a week from the time she was 2 weeks old with a couple breaks. Believe me when I say I can not wait to be done!

I do know the first order of business it to stretch out the muscles that are tight to get full range of motion assisted. Once that's accomplished, you have to strengthen muscles so they have a full range of motion on their own.

Everyone is different and there are many varying degrees so I don't think there's a good 'how long should this take' answer. Just keep up with the assigned exercises at home between visits with the PT and watch for improvement. As long as there is continual improvement from week to week, you're doing fine. I know it feels like it will never end, but in the long run it's really a short period of time. Hang in there~

Update - Dina (9 months on thursday) has been doing great in her Starband (2 months today). I also have been doing better with the whole process. I take her everywhere and get some looks and questions, but don't let it get to me. Thanks to all your wonderful

comments.Anyway my question is regarding her tort, which probably caused her plagio. When we started with the band, we also started PT for her tort on the right side. We started going 3 times a week to his

office for 3 weeks and since things seemed to be going well, Dina tolerated the exercises, we decided to do home visits 2 times a week. The home visits did not go well. Dina cried most of the time and resisted the exercises. So 1 week later we went back to the

office thinking she would do better there like before. The office visits were better cause there wasn't as much crying but still not what it was prior to the home visit change. By end of Dec the PT seemed be getting better, her neck movements to the right were good

with some crying. I kept asking if he saw improvement and he would say " yes I couldn't do this when we started. " He never told me how much longer we would have to go and who actually releases her or

tells us that the tort is gone. I don't want to keep going forever. Does Dina's Ped or Ortho release her? Please advise.NinaDina, 9 months old, 2 months in Starband
