Guest guest
Well Connor went back to the doctor this evening, and we did walk out with a script for a helmet..at 7 months I'm glad this finally happened, though now that it's a reality I'm getting very anxious. The doc agreed that the ear assymetry will not improve at this point even with agressive repo. I live in PA (in the Lehigh Valley) and it was suggested we go with Jack Gold Surgical as a provider. Now the literature from them he gave me mentions Cranial Solutions..anyone know if they are good? I assume this is different from Cranial Tech that I hear so much about on here. Now I'm just torn which provider to use. Our PT for his torticollis suggested Boas Surgical and our doc really wasn't familiar with them, and pics of their helmet looks a lot like the Hanger or Starband.. So I want to get moving on this asap but the doc said patients have had great results from the one he recomended? Anyone from this area familiar with these providers? Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Kate, I'm glad you got the script. I would check out the ortho very well. I looked at their web site and they don't mention plagio or banding at all, so it might not be a very big part of their practice. There are at least 3 starband providers in PA (http://orthomerica.com/technology/scan_locations.htm) you may want to see if one of them would work. I don't know how good they are either, but at least they have a starscanner, so banding might be more of a focus for them. We were living in CA when we banded, so I don't have any first hand experience for you. Let us know how things go. -christine sydney, 3 yrs, starband grad > > Well Connor went back to the doctor this evening, and we did walk out > with a script for a helmet..at 7 months I'm glad this finally happened, > though now that it's a reality I'm getting very anxious.
