I'm glad you're safe. Please be careful.

I didn't realize the planes had passengers and crews

until talking with my boyfriend. That's when it hit

me what had happened. Seeing a building come down is

terrifying but my brain wasn't computing there were

people in them. But hearing about planes being

hijacked, the terror that must have happened in the

skies while the planes were heading for the buildings,

that's when the magnitude of what happened hit me.

Oh God, please help us all.

Woodside is nowhere near the crash site.

Might try and get hold of another cousin who lives in land to

see if he has heard anything.

I suppose it is a very small fry worry in comparison to what the

poor people of NYC are going through.

I love that city and the people - the rudest, loudest but

kind-hearted folks...the all night lifestyle..the corner street

diners...bagels...macys.....the metropolitan museum of art.....i

think it would take a lot to destroy NYC life.

, as I said, it's Far Rockaway, the Bell Harbour area of the

Rockaways. (yes it's a beach resort in Queens.) I have been there.

Ruthie, 'twas me, but I've actually put in the request with a colleague

who's off to LA tomorrow now. Thanks for remembering! I've been worrying

about you today since I heard the news - I thought you were going to be in

Queen's. Glad to see your post anyway, even if the trip hasn't been as

successful as you'd hoped.
