Guest guest
he's 91 years old and he is very sick. he's had prostate cancer for some time now and pees in a bag. he's been peeing blood, but his urologist doesn't seem to care. lately he's been very very tired and rundown, not like him at all. today he had an appt with his gp and- his ekg came back irregular, one of his lungs is full of fluid, he's severely anemic and he may have emphezema or pneumonia. the doc couldn't know for sure without him having more tests which she wanted him to go into the hospital for. he would have been there at least a week for everything he needs done. the problem is, he refuses to go. he figures he's lived a good long life and he'd like to die at home. he's also afraid that if he goes into the hospital, he will never get out. i understand his fears because that very likely could happen, but it's making it very hard on my mom. she now has to give him a nebulizer every 6 hours, on top of everything else she does and she basically has to watch him die. i was wondering if any of you that pray could ask that, when he goes, it will be as quickly and painlessly as possible. i also hope that you could pray for my mom to get through this very trying time. thanks ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What is today, but yesterday's tomorrow - Mr. Krabs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ gina, 31, ny single mom to - kailey, 8, autism, hyperlexia, depression, anxiety, OCD, DSI trevor, 3, multiple developmental delays, no " official " dx yet parker jade, due 7-25-03 :-D

Guest guest
Call Hospice! That will help ease the burden and grief of your grandmother and family and help him to cope too. And I will hope that your grandfather has a peaceful and fast ending. I know it's hard to let go...it might be a good idea to have him evaluated for depression to make sure he's not making this decision based on that, but to me, sounds like his decision is just. > he's 91 years old and he is very sick. he's had prostate cancer for some time now and pees in a bag. he's been peeing blood, but his urologist doesn't seem to care. lately he's been very very tired and rundown, not like him at all. today he had an appt with his gp and- his ekg came back irregular, one of his lungs is full of fluid, he's severely anemic and he may have emphezema or pneumonia. the doc couldn't know for sure without him having more tests which she wanted him to go into the hospital for. he would have been there at least a week for everything he needs done. the problem is, he refuses to go. he figures he's lived a good long life and he'd like to die at home. he's also afraid that if he goes into the hospital, he will never get out. i understand his fears because that very likely could happen, but it's making it very hard on my mom. she now has to give him a nebulizer every 6 hours, on top of everything else she does and she basically has to watch him die. i was wondering if any of you that pray could ask that, when he goes, it will be as quickly and painlessly as possible. i also hope that you could pray for my mom to get through this very trying time. thanks > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > What is today, but yesterday's tomorrow - Mr. Krabs > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > gina, 31, ny > single mom to - > kailey, 8, autism, hyperlexia, depression, anxiety, OCD, DSI > trevor, 3, multiple developmental delays, no " official " dx yet > parker jade, due 7-25-03 :-D > > >

Guest guest
That is a very hard thing to do. I will send good thoughts to you and your mom. And you grandpa. I know if it was me, I would do the same thing. I wouldn't want to go in a hospital. But it does make it hard on your loved ones. My grandma died at home with my parents when I was living at home. It was really hard. Guest guest
So sorry to hear this, . Life isn't fair sometimes. Matt's mom is going through something similar with her husband, Amos. Matt's real dad died when he was ten. It must suck to lose two dads (or two husbands). Sissi
