Could not agree more. It is amazing how good a shiny sink can make you feel. I am managing to do it twice a day,and then I only wash up twice a day and in the meantime put any dirty dishes under sink in a bowl (out of sight) Before I felt like I was washing up all day and there were always dirty dishes draining. Flylady keeps on going on about her 'crockpot' Does she mean a slow cooker? Has anyone any experience of using these? Kate P.s. I have had 2 trips to tip in last 3 days! Mmm - me too, it feels great doesn't it. > > Flylady keeps on going on about her 'crockpot' > Does she mean a slow cooker? > Has anyone any experience of using these? > > Kate > P.s. I have had 2 trips to tip in last 3 days! If she does mean a slow cooker, then yes I have one and it's wonderful! It uses the approximate energy of a light bulb left on for hours, and cooks almost anything. I have done a whole chicken in mine which was just gorgeous, but very fatty as none of it escapes. My favourite meal done this way is Chicken Cordon Bleu - chicken breasts filled with ham and cheese, coated in egg and breadcrumbs. You just brown the chicken, pop it in on auto and leave it for 4-6 hours - wonderful to come home too and we all love it. I have a large one which was a wedding present, my Mum has a small one (free from a catalogue) which is just as useful, and better for meals-for-one. She does casserolled steak in hers which really is heavenly! Ruth > > > > > >
Guest guest
Have done 27 item fling or sling in DD's room (my box area, though, which I'm aiming eventually to move out altogether) and have a bin bag full ready for dustmen tomorrow - do find 27 items rather arbitrary - in fact my sling session was just everything I had time for before getting called downstairs, but certainly more than 27! Am not sure how I would do a 27 item sling in the bathroom as requested, without chucking essential and being-used things! > > Flylady keeps on going on about her 'crockpot' > Does she mean a slow cooker? > Has anyone any experience of using these? Yes, love them! You just do the initial preparation of a casserole eg saute onion, celery, carrots and other veg and brown the meat, add up to boiling point liquid eg stock or tomato or whatever, herbs and flavourings and bung it in, forget for 4-6 hrs - only disadvantage is having to think ahead - great advantage is slow cooking of meat which means it's more tender. My mother also swears by them for porridge overnight. I'd start from cold milk for that. If investing in one, get one with two settings slow and fast or the one setting can be too fast. Uses as much electricity as a light bulb, apparently. > > Kate > P.s. I have had 2 trips to tip in last 3 days! Caro who is supposed not to be posting on every single thing she sees on messages lest you should all get tired of hearing my voice...but failing miserably...(sorry!)
