They are excellent and they get used every single day. Well, I hope so anyway, because my Christmas present was bought on Saturday and is sitting in the hall waiting for sombody (probably me) to wrap it up and hide for the next 6 weeks. Guest guest
Yes Kate, my PIL bought us a breadmaker about a year ago and I don't think we've bought one loaf of bread from a shop since! It's lovely - makes wonderful bread, I know *exactly* what has gone in to it (DS1 has a soya allergy and you can't actually buy bread without soya flour in), the smell is gorgeous, I could go on and on. We use ours almost every day, although I haven't experimented with it too much. I make either plain white, or half and half with softgrain or wholemeal flour, or granary bread. Also I use it to make the dough for pizza which takes 45 minutes. Oh, and I forgot to mention the doughnuts.....;o)) I chose the one from Lakeland Limited which is a Panasonic 206 I think, but there are some good deals out there. Guest guest
I have a breadmaker and go in phases of using it. The bread is lovely and fresh, of course, and it's absolutely no hassle to use - especially as I tend to buy the ingredient mixes rather than measure out everything separately. Mine takes 3h40m to make a standard 1.5lb loaf and it can be set ahead of time. You can also make dough for pizza, rolls, French bread, playdough etc. The only drawback for us is that one loaf of bread doesn't go very far in a family of six.
