Hey ,

I just wanted to thank you for talking the time to talk to me today. It was

very nice to talk to someone. One on one. Everybody has been very nice to

me. I have almost finished the patient letter. So hopefully I will be

dancing soon.

Thanks Again

,

The first week after surgery was awful for me. After the pain medicine wore

off, I used Tylenol. It actually worked pretty good. I also found that

freezing the protein drinks and eating them as a slush worked a lot better for

me. I couldn't stand drinking that stuff down. I also found that the new slim

fast soy drinks tasted pretty good when frozen. Don't worry too much about

protein these first few weeks. You need to make sure you keep hydrated. You

will be able to eat stuff again and your taste will become more tolerant of

foods after a few weeks. I couldn't stand anything besides room temp water the

first week post-op.

For those people who say our surgery was cosemetic, I want to show them my scar

and ask them how cosemetic that looks. Besides, if I were to have cosemetic

surgery I wouldn't still have the fat apron or all the stretch marks on my

belly.

Congrats on a successful switch and hoping that your recovery goes smooth as

silk. When I was first post-op, the things that tasted best to me were

popsicles, yogurt, cashews (I know weird - but true and contain protein),

tomato soup w/melted cheddar cheese in it, cheese sticks. For some reason,

tomatoey things went down very good for me. As everyone is telling you, it

does get better. And at this point, its better to concentrate on staying

hydrated, as we have plenty of protein stores to not worry about that for

awhile.

Take good care -

LOL!!!!!!!!! I would have addressed that to the whole group. ;) But AI is

something and I talk about every week! In fact if we lived in the same time

zone I am sure we would watch it together over the phone. :) I got hooked when a

girl from my hometown was on AI last year. I watched her when I was in labor

with Seni. :)
