Guest guest
My sister managed to delete all my website files from my hard drive (I've looked everywhere and can't find them!) so I have had to resort to downloading my website from the internet to my PC (still with me?) What I can't work out how to do is to get the themes, navigation structure and shared borders to download. I feel I am missing something obvious here - but can't work out what!! http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/
Guest guest
> My sister managed to delete all my website files from my hard drive I am not quite sure what you are missing. http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/index.htm essentially just frames in http://fp.foxwood.plus.com/index.html .... Actually I have fiddled some more and I guess you mean the foxwood logo and brown page titles. The logo is defined by the code: *img border= " 0 " src= " _borders/Foxwood.gif " width= " 397 " height= " 122 " * (I have replaced < and > in case they get processed as tags rather than text). and the home page title (for example) by *img src= " _derived/index.html_cmp_sandston010_bnr.gif " width= " 600 " height= " 60 " border= " 0 " alt= " Home Page " * This means that Foxwood.gif (available at http://fp.foxwood.plus.com/_borders/Foxwood.gif ) must be in a folder called _borders underneat the folder where index.html is saved. Similarly the file in the SRC parameter of its IMG tag for the Home Page graphic. I am guessing that frontpage did this bit for you unlike the rest of your pictures stored in http://fp.foxwood.plus.com/images/ You could just download everythis from http://fp.foxwood.plus.com/_borders/ and http://fp.foxwood.plus.com/_derived/ (as I imagine you did for /images/) There is also a folder structure under http://fp.foxwood.plus.com/_themes/ which I guess you can just download as well (I haven't used FrontPage but perhaps this is the other thing you mean). Can't see any reference to any other _folders, but you have more of an incentive to look at your source code for longer than me :-) Lucky that directory browsing is enabled really. Guest guest
, I have just tried to import your site onto my PC. It only imported one page, and obviously gave me a navigation structure accordingly. I think the problem may be because your site isn't actually at www.foxstitch.co.uk - that's just the index page - the rest of it is at a different site. Have you tried importing from the fp...site that you have - it wouldn't let me do this as it asked for username/password. Joyce FAO Frontpage experts! I am going to have a look through ' very complicated looking email when my brain is in better shape (don't hold your breath!) and see what I can do. Guest guest
It says when you try to import the fp site: to keep the themes etc, open the new web in Frontpage and immediately publish it. When you do this I imagine you will get messages saying that such and such files were on the destination web, but not in your file - would you like to add them, sort of thing. I think this will solve your problems. Just make sure you have both foxstitch and fp in the same web. Don't mess about with the individual files! I did read that bit - but I guess I got a bit windy when I saw that the stuff I had down loaded looked so different to the actual website (i.e. all Times New Roman and no themes/navigation structure) and didn't want to risk doing it in case it all went pear shaped and I end up spending the next 10 weeks trying to put it right again! http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/
