Guest guest
is going to be a star (the twinkly type not the rich mega star type) in the school Nativity Play and needs a yellow top and yellow trousers. I am sure I can lay my hands on a yellow t shirt without much trouble - but yellow trousers seem a bit more elusive. If anyone knows where I might find a pair please let me know - I'd rather not have to make a pair! http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/

Thanks for the thought Ruthie. I wish I'd been given a bit more notice - I'm sure I could have found a pair in Boston. We're not particularly blessed with children's shops out here in the sticks - I guess I'll have to hit the mail order/internet retailers. http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/

Guest guest
> yellow trousers seem a bit more elusive .... I`ve always found Dylon dyes work well, and use a light coloured garment which they are about to grow out of - at least you know it fits. The Dylon machine dyes are v cheap and work well. If you need both top & trousers - you could dye both at once & it will be a matching outfit! If no appropriate garment in the house- it`s easy to pick up ordinary light col clothes & dye them. IMHO it is important for the children to be comfortable in what they wear for nativity & such, you don`t want them 'fiddling' in front of a large audience ! ;-) Barbara no more nativity plays for me (not sad, just moved on to the next stage!) Guest guest
Don't fool yourself . I'd think it would be impossible to find yellow trousers here. I tried to get some last year to go with the Pikachu costume I made Alistair for Halloween. After trekking through several children's shops, I ended up with yellow tights, along with a girl's yellow school shirt. Lack of consumer *choice* is high on my list of pet peeves here. What about getting white or beige and dying them? I've done that before, and it's really not that much hassle compared to tracking down what you really want. The colour was yellow in this case too. -----Original Message----- From: Dick [sMTP:D@...] Thanks for the thought Ruthie. Guest guest
That is really funny cos I am looking for a brown Jumper for my as he has to be a teddy bear for the Toddlers Christmas party! I have trousers but don't have a stock of brown jumpers to hand. I will look out for yellow trousers though. Kirsten Re: Yellow Trousers > Thanks for the thought Ruthie. Guest guest
You could borrow DS's mustard yellow trews if you'd like? They are 21 " from waist to hem - brushed cotton elastic waist, jeans style pockets, with patches on knees in same material. I have them to hand so posting would be more reliable than Angi's Barbie. Caro but yellow trousers seem a bit more elusive. If anyone knows > where I might find a pair please let me know -
Guest guest
Thanks for all the advice! I think I'll see if I can find an old pair of chinos and dye them yellow. http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/ orTrisha@... wrote: > Kirsten wrote: > > That is really funny cos I am looking for a brown Jumper for my > > as he has to be a teddy bear for the Toddlers Christmas party! Guest guest
I got a pair of mustard yellow cords for my in a children's boutique in Bookham, Surrey. They are made by Alphabet, and have a Grizzli label on the pocket. They were blinkin' expensive (£20sih?), but are lovely. Sadly, I live in Cheshire so can't offer to nip in and get you some, but if you're miles away you could perhaps butter up the very lovely Caro Heyworth, who lives a bit closer - or look for Alphabet stockists online, or in the yellow pages? Guest guest
Thanks, but today mum has gone out and bought a pattern and some fury fabric to make him a full teddy bear suit! Ahhh. I will take photos and scan them in so you can all see my little cherub as a teddy bear! Somehow I have been conned into being a Fairy for the NCT Christmas party that I am organising so loads of purple and white netting and white tights! LOL Kirsten Re: Re: Yellow Trousers > Kirsten wrote: > > That is really funny cos I am looking for a brown Jumper for my > > as he has to be a teddy bear for the Toddlers Christmas party! > > > I have a brown jumper (rudolf in last years Beaver production!) but it will > be too big for a Toddler. Guest guest
Dont know what this thread is about but reminds me of my dad 10 years ago. He used to always take a pair of yellow cheese cloth type material trousers on holiday with us, and thought he was the height of fashion. I was 16-18 and mortified. They were completely see through and he always used to wear striped y-fronts under them, topped off with socks and sandles...AAAHHHH When my parents moved house and I went off to Uni, my mum hid the trousers in my new bedroom, and we burnt them on the bonfire the next autumn, as a kind of ritulistic cleansing! Last week, for the first time in years, he asked where they were, and we told him...he has just threatened to buy a new pair...thank god I am married and dont have to go away with him! He aslo has a stetson (sp?) hat which he actually wears!!! Hes soooo embarressing!
Guest guest
Sorry to come in a bit late on this thread, but I noticed today in Mothercare that they have some bright yellow Bob the Builder trousers which are also on sale ( about £5). HTH Kate Yellow Trousers ..
