Fantastic Debbie. Hope it all works out for you.

Do you have birthing centres over in WA? In Melbourne there used to be

a few that advertised in the local paper. I never looked into them much

but they seemed to offer a full package with antenatal (CBEs) and

postnatal support, as well as lactation consultants etc.

Well done you, I have also handed in my notice and stop working at

Christmas to do my ANT training and straw silk glassware. Good

feeling isn't it!

How unusual - how do you find out about hobbies/crafts like that?

it must take a lot of patience to do one - and dare I ask is the finished

product very expensive? (you don't have to answer that if you don't want!)

Kirsten and Debbie - it's really nice to have some joint " job

leavers " ! I am leaving at Christmas too (though mentally I have left

already).

I feel as if a weight have been lifted off my shoulders - I know the

kids will keep me busy but at least there will be one less thing on

my mind.

How old are your kids? I'm really impressed by your plans to do

training & arts and studying... how and when will you manage to

combine that with the kids?

Wow I am impressed - so talented. It would take me a lot longer than 3 days

to get around to making anything.

Karina, I value my evenings highly for study and my straw silk! and

thankfully DS who is 2yrs still goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps through.

He is very good really and I have alot of help with him from Mum a

couple of days a week. After Christmas the Straw silk will quieten

down a little and I will be able to concentrate on Studying for a few

months

I cover glass with Japanese straw silk and decorate on top of that.

It is very effective and as far as I am aware there are only 4 of us

in the UK that do it! Thankfully we are all on different sides of the

country which is convenient for sales.

I have a web site which is :-

http://www.mycbsite.com/sanctuarycrafts/door/

if you are interested in what it looks like. Unfortunately the

picture doesn't give it much credit!

Hope this explains it a bit better

I taught myself so that took a bit of practice!! It doesn't take much

patience just alot or ideas for what design to do next as I try to

make them all unique!

I don't mind you asking at all. I price them between £4 for a small

candle cup to £25 for a one off large vase but generally between £10

and £18 quid. Not alot when you consider that each one takes around 3

days to make!
