Guest guest
There was an article in the Independent which I mentioned on nct this morning, about the possible correlation between various factors and SIDS - under suspect at the moment is cow's milk which of course is one of the (main?) ingredients in formula... They also mentioned in their pointers not co-sleeping *but* in fact the research shows no link between co-sleeping and SIDS> - see discussion on nct... here's the link if you're interested http://www.independent.co.uk/story.jsp?story=104787 Caro
Guest guest
I'm all for breastfeeding for a year if possible, but what I don't quite understand is that all those mums I know who breastfeed for ages put their kids straight onto cow's milk when they stop? Surely there's more cow's milk in cow's milk than there is in progress formula?! - and also the latter has iron etc which means you don't need to give any supplements. Guest guest
I breast fed Kitty until she was over 2, although she did have cows milk (on cereal etc.) from 12 months. I feel much happier for my children to have organic cows milk than to have formula which has a long list of ingredients with names I don't recognise. http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/ kbholm@... wrote: > I'm all for breastfeeding for a year if possible, but what I don't > quite understand is that all those mums I know who breastfeed for > ages put their kids straight onto cow's milk when they stop? >
Guest guest
Yes but I have no problem with cow's milk over 6 months and think of all those other " lovely " things they put in formula, besides, if your child has a varied solid diet they don't need iron supplements which IME just bung them up. (and supplements aren't required anyway IMO, by a year a child is eating other foods which should supply all that) Also isn;t straight milk cheaper than formula? I appreciate this may be different for people who FF, but as I understood you were talking about why BF babies are put on to doorstep at a year (or when they stop BF) Angi
