Well, I'm back from a long sojourn in no-mail land, so thought I ought to do a

re-intro. Live in deepest Kent, with 3 boys and 1 wannabe boy (dh), plus

assorted pets. I see a few names I recognise, so excuse me if I feel at home

and plunge straight in.

Welcome back Alison. I think I remember you from the old days, LOL. Enjoy

the chat - there's a thread about families with three or more of the same

sex at the moment so you will fit right in. Are you pets all male too?

Thanks for the welcome back, Joyce.

Well, I used to be heavily outnumbered on that front too, but the 2 male rabbits

were replaced with 2 female guinea pigs a little while ago, which balanced

things out a bit more. Still in the minority though, with 3 male cats, only 1

female cat and a male hamster as well!

However, being one of 3 girls myself, I have to say it is interesting living in

a house where the dominant hormone is testosterone ;o)

Alison - have you trained all those boys to put the loo seat down?

DH used to be very forgetful about this until we got kittens and I told him that

the kittens might fall in and drown if he didn't put the seat and lid down - its

done the trick!

Well, the problem doesn't really arise in the upstairs bathroom, as the loo seat

refuses to stay up by itself! The boys have to hold it up and then either put

it down or (more likely) let it fall with a bang. Slightly dodgy for them if

they let go in mid-pee....

Downstairs, I have to confess that they must be quite good at doing it, because

I don't often have to do it myself. More troublesome is the habit they have

acquired from watching their father - dropping about 5 towels on the floor after

washing their hands.

Actually, you've just reminded me that both of our rabbits was *supposed* to be

boys and, when the mistake was discovered, the " true " male, poor thing, had to

go and be gelded!

Do you suppose it's a coincidence that our female cat is my favourite, or is it

just that she is more cuddly/friendly/snuggly than the others?

Alison

HI Alison & boys - from a girlie house !

Barbara... with 2DDs and even our hamster (RIP) Harry turned out to be a

girl!

I prefer male cats - dunno why - and female dogs (that's easy, male

dogs are far too untidy just where you want to tickle their tums!) -

but when the heart says " That's the one " then that's the one

regardless of sex.

My only female cat is the flightiest piece. She spends most of her

time pretending to be an ornament on a high shelf.

Have finally trained DS's 1-3 and DH, we found DS4 trying to catch an

imperfectly flushed loo that the seat had been left up on - urgh!
