Guest guest
Well done you for risking - and surviving - a weekend away!! It's always a bit stressful the first few times I think - no matter how friendly people were it always used to freak me out just thinking about where we would all sleep and would DD wake up or not, and would she wake anyone else up or not, and would the room be the right temperature, and would anyone make comments on my parenting style, and would it throw our routines into disarray, and would we remember to bring all the gear and all that... But then I am the worrying type at times. Come to think of it is not any less stressful now that both babes are into absolutely everything and with 99% reliability will have located all breakable objects, expensive porcelain, etc (DS) and all biscuit tins, muddy puddles, not-to-be-touched books etc (DD) within 5 minutes. But I guess DH and I are a tiny bit less stressed now purely because we've done it a few times, and because any visit from us is always carries a pre-warning a la " do you really want us to come and wreck your house " which is always met with a polite " of course " , but then at least they have been told. Karina Mum to Emilia (3) and Sebastian (1) > On an unrelated note we had our first w/e away at PIL's in Somerset (Cheddar). Dd slept all the way from London (with one break for a feed) both ways and was a little darling whilst we were there. She also met Eva snr (G.G-M, whose own G.G-M was also called Eva, we learned). > > We (dw and I) both found it a bit stressful at times (nothing big though) and we have proved that it can be done > > james > not sahd to eva hb 23/9/
