That's ridiculous!! What if the child insisted on throwing himself

off a cliff - would she let him do it because he otherwise would have

a tantrum?!

We've had exactly the same with DD - she doesn't want to be in her

seat, she hates the straps, the straps hurt, etc etc - but it's very

simple; the car doesn't move unless she is safely in her seat.

It usually works eventually... " don't you want to visit Granny

then " " yes " " well, then in the seat " ... The one that has impressed

her the most though is " the policewoman said we all have to have seat

belts " (OK I was desperate - DS was asleep and her screaming was

waking him up...) - she really had respect for that so clearly the

police rank one above mummy!!)
