Guest guest
We have a police schools liaison officer who comes in to talk to the pupils - do you have one ? perhaps you could mention it? Or talk to the head teacher - mention your concerns - perhaps see if he thinks you could get a police officer to come and hang around at going home time.... I nkow it is not technically the school`s responsibility but he/she may have wise words. In mid September after we had gone back to playgroup she was chatting with another mum who has a son same age as her son and she said something about them starting school and when was the womans son 4.. so she replied Oh this week (mid September) and 1st mum (the one who never uses car seat) said OH my good HOW ANNOYING he could have been in school you must be guttet... so mum said actually I rather like it this way he gets to be one of the oldest in his class not the youngest and I think that is much better.. she replied. OH gosh I rang everywhere i could think of to find out if someplace would take Josh.. full time he is so much trouble and I just wish that he had been born 1 month earlier so he would have been in school now... (I nearly said well send him to a nursery if he is that much bother to you but didn't...) but Josh was standing RIGHT next to her and hearing your mum talking like that about you is just horrible.. I think she is just really thoughtless.. when she realised I was pg this time she said OH MY GOOD you are mad.. how old is the oldest.. then said OH well obviously a mistake this one.. and could not believe me when I said no... I don't know whether they talked to the pupils but they all got a letter for parents from the council's safety team, plus a leaflet on seat belts and a warning that there would be patrols. Hasn't made a lot of difference :-( -- jennifer@... Vaudin
