not recently... but when I was teaching (school) I used one a lot (4/5

years ago...don;t think they have changed much!!)

The carrier is the card folder thing you put the laminate pocket and

contents (Thing you are laminating) into to send it through the hot

rollers which seal it. Its basically to prevent the laminate getting

stuck on the rollers! SO yes you do need them, they should last a good

few (in the 10's rather than the ones) uses with care. Maybe even

more.

Liz,

You can get cold laminators with the laminate(?) - plastic cover thingy coming

in a roll - quite useful if you are laminating non standard items. Hot

laminators need the carrier - stops the sheet sticking and should ensure a

smooth bubble free finish. The carrier should last a long time at least the

number of sheets in the box
